Terms of use. Clear from the start.

What Folio provides, what you control, and the practical limits to keep in mind when using this CV maker.

Folio is a free CV-making website maintained by Muhammad Mubashar Shahzad in Pakistan. These terms describe use of the editor, templates, downloads, and public writing guides.

Using the service

You can use the available templates to create and download CVs for your own applications, or help someone else with their permission. The current service does not require an account or payment and does not add a watermark to exported CVs.

Use the website responsibly. Do not attempt to disrupt it, bypass access protections, impersonate other people, or use someone else’s private information without permission.

Your content and responsibility

The personal details and writing you enter remain your content. You are responsible for having permission to use any uploaded text, documents, photographs, or other material.

Check that names, contact information, employment dates, qualifications, and achievements are accurate. Public template examples are fictional and should not be presented as your own experience.

Imports, previews, and downloads

Text extraction can make mistakes, especially with multi-column, scanned, protected, or unusually formatted files. Review the imported fields against the source before downloading. Missing details may need manual entry.

Open the finished PDF, check every page, and follow the employer’s file-format instructions. Font support, unusual characters, browser capabilities, and device limitations can affect the output.

Saving your work

Changes remain in the current tab unless you explicitly save a browser draft or download a file. Closing or reloading a tab can discard work that has not been saved. Browser drafts can be lost when browser data is cleared or removed.

Keep your own downloaded draft if you need a portable backup. Folio cannot retrieve browser drafts from your device or recover files you have deleted. See how saving and deleting drafts works.

Guidance and outcomes

The guides and review suggestions provide general information. They do not guarantee a job, an interview, a particular document-parsing result, or acceptance by a recruitment system. Employers make their own decisions and may have requirements that differ from the examples.

You decide which information belongs in your application. Read the editorial standards for the scope of the guidance and how to request a correction.

Availability and external services

Features may change as the website is maintained, and availability cannot be guaranteed at every moment. Keep a copy of important work and review the current instructions when returning to the editor.

External links and email providers have their own terms and privacy practices. Opening an email draft does not send a message until you send it through your email application. Third-party names do not imply endorsement.

Advertising and changes

Advertising is currently disabled. Any future advertising must remain separate from CV content and download controls, with data practices described in the privacy policy. You do not need to interact with advertising to use the current free service.

These terms may be updated when the service changes. The date at the top identifies this published version. For questions about the website or these terms, use the Contact page.

Review your document, keep a backup, and follow the instructions for the application you are making.
