A few things worth knowing.
Everything you need to feel comfortable getting started.
Your privacy, explainedIs this CV maker really free?
Yes. All 24 templates, every accent colour, photo layouts, file imports, editing tools, browser drafts, and PDF downloads are free. No account or payment is required, and exported CVs never include a watermark.
Can I upload a CV I already have?
Yes. Choose a text-based PDF or DOCX up to 15 MB. Folio extracts recognized details into an editable form on your device. Review every field before downloading; unusual layouts can need corrections. Scanned or unreadable files have a manual-entry option.
Is my personal information uploaded?
Your CV is read, edited, previewed, and exported in your browser. The app does not send CV contents to a server, advertising service, or analytics provider. No AI service processes your document.
Can I save my CV and come back later?
Choose Save draft in the editor to keep a copy in this browser on this device. You can also download a portable JSON draft and restore it later. Saving is your choice; details are not saved automatically. Delete saved draft removes the browser copy.
Can I add a photo to my CV?
Yes, if you want one. Add a photo under Personal details; it is cropped to a circle on your device and never uploaded. It appears in the templates marked Photo: Sidebar, Executive, Atlas, Duo, Elegant, Portrait, Monogram, Horizon. Follow the conventions of your industry and the employer’s application instructions.
Will a longer CV fit into the PDF?
Yes. Your information flows across as many A4 pages as it needs. The live preview renders the generated PDF, so you can review the same page breaks that appear in the download.
Which CV template should I choose?
Start with the layout that makes your information easiest to follow. Classic, Professional, Executive, Academic, and Elegant are formal and traditional. Compare Monogram and Horizon for a modern introduction, Outline for a restrained frame, or Ribbon and Editorial for expressive headings. Every template takes any of ten accent colours, and 8 can show an optional photo. Follow any formatting instructions from the employer.
